Important: Therapy
Flucloxacillin 500mg PO 6 hourly +/- Metronidazole 400mg PO 8 hourly (if anaerobes suspected)
Penicillin Allergy:
Clarithromycin 500mg PO 12 hourly +/- Metronidazole 400mg PO 8 hourly (if anaerobes suspected)
Caesarean Section Wound infection
Important: Therapy
Flucloxacillin 1g IV 6 hourly AND Metronidazole 500mg IV 8 hourly (PO can be used after initial IV dose if oral route available) AND Gentamicin IV
Penicillin allergy:
Clindamycin 600mg IV 6 hourly AND Gentamicin IV
