Classic presentation – triad of
- Fever
- Costovertebral/loin pain
- Nausea/vomiting
- +/- cystitis
If admission not needed, send MSU for culture & susceptibility and start antibiotics.
If no response within 24 hours, admit.
Review previous microbiology results and antibiotic sensitivities to guide empirical antibiotic.
