Coliforms, Staphylococcus aureus, Pneumococcus, Streptococcus milleri, oral anaerobes
Duration
4-6 weeks
Important: Therapy
IV Ceftriaxone 2g 12 hourly
+ IV Metronidazole 500mg 8 hourly
Oral switch dependent on culture results and response
Notes:
Consider immune deficiency and testing for HIV
