Acute Prostatitis
Review antibiotic treatment after 14 days and either stop or continue for a further 14 days if needed.
Note that bacterial infection (acute and chronic) account for <5% of all prostatitis diagnoses; their precise incidence is unknown.
Admit if IV therapy required.

Avoid ciprofloxacin in frail elderly patients where possible due to CDI risk. Check important safety information in BNF & give MHRA patient information leaflet to patient
