Men who have sex with only women

  • Urine (first void) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
  • Blood (serology)
    • Serology for syphilis
    • HIV antibody testing

Additionally men who are contacts of a female partner with gonorrhoea:

  • Swab (pharyngeal) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
  • Urine (first void) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual

Men who have sex with men

  • Swabs (pharyngeal and rectal) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
  • Urine (first void) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
  • Blood (serology)
    • Syphilis
    • HIV antibody testing
    • Hepatitis B core antibody  

Women

  • Swab (vaginal) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
  • Blood (serology)
    • Syphilis
    • HIV antibody testing

       

Additionally women at elevated risk of gonorrhoea because they:

  • work in the sex industry
  • report sexual assault
  • are contacts of gonococcal infection, or
  • have been diagnosed with gonorrhoea at an anogenital site

Also require:

  • Swab (pharyngeal and rectal) for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual
