Chlamydia in pregnancy and breastfeeding

Azithromycin 1g orally as a single dose, followed by 500mg once daily for two days

OR

Erythromycin 500mg four times daily for seven days

OR

Erythromycin 500mg twice daily for 14 days

OR

Amoxicillin 500mg three times a day for seven days

In all cases, obtain a sexual history;  DISCUSS with staff at the Chalmers Centre if you need help with contact tracing or if you are concerned that the woman is at ongoing risk of HIV, syphilis or hepatitis B/C.

In pregnancy a test of cure for chlamydia must be carried out no earlier than three weeks after completing treatment.
