Previous pregnancies
Warning
Closely spaced pregnancies
- Women who have very closely spaced pregnancies (within 6 months of a previous pregnancy) are more likely to have a preterm or low birth weight baby.
Previous miscarriage
- The likelihood of recurrence is low.
- However, for women who have experienced three or more early losses, referral can be made to a specialist as it may be possible to identify a cause and offer suitable treatment.
Previous preterm birth, low birth weight and stillbirth
- Women may benefit from referral back to an obstetric team to discuss their individual risks.
