- Proton pump inhibitors
- Diuretics (particularly Bendroflumethiazide)
- Note on diuretics – Loop diuretics less commonly cause hyponatraemia with the exception of patients who are over-diuresed and volume deplete. In euvolaemic or clinically overloaded patients loop diuretics are often a helpful component in the treatment of hyponatraemia. Please discuss with a senior if you have any concerns
- ACE-inhibitors or ATII receptor blockers
- Antidepressants (SSRIs and TCAs)
- Trimethoprim and co-trimoxazole
- Anti-epileptics particularly carbamazepine
- Hypotonic fluids (eg 0.18% sodium chloride/ 4% dextrose mixed bags).
