Where patients have missed methadone doses, a change of tolerance or increased drug use may occur. In this situation, follow the guidance below:
Tolerance may have reduced
Number of missed days |
Action to be taken |
| One day | No change to dose |
| Two or three days | No change to dose |
| More than three days | A dose reduction may be required. Contact DLN for advice on dose titration (refer to Useful phone numbers and contacts during working hours) |
