For patients under the care of secondary care Mental Health or Learning Disability Services in the community, the Psychiatrist from the appropriate team should review and apply the Mental Health Act in an emergency.
Where there is an emergency presentation, any Medical Practitioner can take the necessary action to ensure patient centred and safety focused management of the patient takes place.
