Sepsis screening

These sepsis screening tools are designed for use by GPs and advanced nurse practitioners. Use these tools if the child looks unwell, has abnormal physiology, or if there is parental concern.
Risk factors for sepsis include:
- Impaired immunity (e.g. diabetes, steroids, chemotherapy)
- Recent trauma / surgery / invasive procedure
- Indwelling lines / IVDU / broken skin
These tools are based on the Sepsis Trust general practice screening and action flowcharts.
