Dosage:

• First line treatment of non-bullous impetigo.

Dosage:

Rosacea: apply cream thinly twice daily for up to 3 to 4 months (often very rapidly effective)

• Refer to Management of rosacea guidance.
• Avoid contact with eyes.

Gel (Anabact^®) 0·75%

Dosage:

Malodorous tumours and skin ulcers: apply gel to clean wound once or twice daily and cover with non-adherent dressing. Unsuitable for use in rosacea.

Cream (Bactroban^®) 2% (s)

Dosage:

Traumatic lesions secondarily infected with MRSA- cream: apply 3 times daily for up to 10 days; re-evaluate if no response after 3 to 5 days.

MRSA skin colonisation or infection - ointment: apply up to 3 times daily for up to 10 days.  May sting.

Dosage:

Limited indications: staphylococcal skin infections, eg impetigo. Use ONLY for short periods of time (up to 10 days) to prevent bacterial resistance.

• Apply 3 to 4 times daily for up to 7 days.
