Sodium cromoglycate is first choice for the management of allergic eye conditions. Second choice options are olopatadine, Otrivine-Antistin® and lodoxamide; base selection on patient response and preference.
Ciclosporin (Miscellaneous ophthalmic preparations) may be used under specialist advice as an anti-inflammatory.

SODIUM CROMOGLICATE - (First line)

Dosage:

Apply 1 drop 4 times daily for allergic eye conditions.

ANTAZOLINE WITH XYLOMETAZOLINE

Eye drops (antazoline 0·5%, xylometazoline 0·05%) (Otrivine Antistin®)

Dosage:

Apply 1 drop two to three times daily for allergic eye conditions.

LODOXAMIDE
