Formulation:

Chewable tablets (Neomag^®) (magnesium 4mmol or 97mg/tablet) 

Dosage:

Initially 1 to 2 tablets 3 times daily; adjust dose according to serum total magnesium level.

As per SMC 1267/17: as an oral magnesium supplement for the treatment of patients with chronic magnesium loss or hypomagnesaemia as diagnosed by a doctor. Magnesium glycerophosphate is also indicated for adult patients with hypomagnesaemia due to the concomitant administration of loop and thiazide diuretics or other drugs which cause hypomagnesaemia.

Oral powder sachets (Magnaspartate^®) 6·5 grams (magnesium 243mg or 10mmol/sachet)

Dosage:

One to two sachets daily, dissolved in water, tea or orange juice.
