Antimuscarinic Bronchodilators
Acute angle-closure glaucoma reported with antimuscarinic bronchodilators:
- Ideally nebulise solution through a mouthpiece.
- Advise patients to avoid getting powder or spray into their eyes; this may result in precipitation or worsening of angle-closure glaucoma, eye pain or discomfort, temporary blurring of vision, visual halos or coloured images in association with red eyes from conjunctival congestion and corneal oedema.
- If any combination of these eye symptoms develops, advise patients to stop treatment and consult their GP immediately.
