- Dry powder inhaler (DPI)
- Soft Mist Inhaler (SMI)
- Metered Dose Inhaler (SMI)
Inhalers should be prescribed by brand and the most suitable device for the patient chose to ensure compliance. DPI or SMI are the preferred choice over MDI for environmental reasons.
Encourage patients to return their used inhalers to their community pharmacy for destruction.
